Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated multiple development projects worth ₹25 crore in the Najafgarh area as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The projects are focused on revamping roads and improving drainage infrastructure in the area. The works are aimed at strengthening civic infrastructure and improving basic amenities for residents of Najafgarh.
“From better roads and drains to stronger drainage infrastructure, these projects will strengthen civic amenities and make everyday life easier for the people of Najafgarh,” Gupta said while addressing a gathering.
The Chief Minister also said that another 10 projects worth ₹33 crore are already underway across seven unauthorised colonies in the area.
Gupta said projects that had come to a halt under the previous government have also been taken up along with the newly inaugurated works.
Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh said the government is also working on plans for an elevated road on Najafgarh-Phirni Road to help reduce traffic congestion in the area.
The road and drainage projects form part of the Delhi government’s wider infrastructure works being undertaken through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The latest projects are focused on improving road conditions and drainage infrastructure in Najafgarh, while the proposed elevated road is intended to address traffic congestion along one of the area’s key stretches.
