The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned ₹653 crore for major infrastructure upgrades of the Delhi Police, marking a significant step toward strengthening the capital’s law enforcement capabilities.
The approved funding will be utilized for the construction of 18 new police stations, modernisation of existing facilities, and development of key administrative and residential complexes. The initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency, ensure better working conditions for personnel, and improve service delivery to citizens.
The officials from the MHA highlighted that the new infrastructure projects are part of a broader effort to equip the Delhi Police with modern amenities, advanced technology, and improved mobility to meet the growing security and policing needs of the city.
The projects will also focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, integrating eco-friendly designs and smart systems in upcoming buildings. Once completed, these developments are expected to significantly upgrade the capital’s policing infrastructure, reinforcing safety, surveillance, and community engagement.
