Prestige Group has secured the naming rights for a commercial space at Bellandur Metro Station on the Purple Line in Bengaluru in a 30-year agreement valued at ₹115 crore, officials said on Friday.
Under the long-term arrangement, the commercial space at the metro station will be branded with the Prestige name, with the developer obtaining exclusive rights to use the space for retail, branding and associated commercial activities. The deal covers digital, physical and experiential branding opportunities across the station’s commercial outlets and interface areas.
The naming rights agreement was finalised through an expression of interest process led by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL). Prestige’s bid was selected based on financial and strategic criteria, with the ₹115 crore consideration being the highest offered for the 30-year term.
BMRCL said the initiative is part of its efforts to monetise non-fare revenue and develop commercial assets within metro infrastructure. Bellandur Metro Station, located on the busy outer ring road stretch, serves as a key transit hub for commuters and corporate catchments in southeast Bengaluru. The commercial space is expected to attract premium brands and services in addition to enhanced commuter amenities.
As part of the agreement, Prestige will also have rights for interior and exterior branding across designated commercial zones and digital screens within the station precinct. The company plans to integrate retail and service offerings that complement commuter needs and reinforce its brand engagement within the transit ecosystem.
Metro officials noted that monetisation of naming rights and commercial spaces is an emerging strategy for augmenting revenue streams beyond ticketing, while improving station facilities and user experience. Similar opportunities are being explored at other strategically located stations across the city’s metro network.
The 30-year deal underscores the growing appeal of transit-oriented commercial investments in Bengaluru, where rising footfall and urban density present attractive prospects for long-term partnerships between public transport agencies and private developers.
