BEML Wins ₹75.58-Crore Export Order for HMV 12x12 and 8x8 Vehicles

BEML Limited has secured an export and maintenance order worth approximately ₹75.58 crore for High Mobility Vehicles (HMVs) in the Southeast Asian region. The order covers the supply and maintenance of its HMV 12×12 and HMV 8×8 vehicles.

The company disclosed the order on October 9, 2026, stating that it had been received in the normal course of business. The announcement adds to BEML’s export business and strengthens its presence in the international market for heavy mobility vehicles.

The contract includes both vehicle exports and maintenance support. However, BEML has not disclosed the name of the customer, the number of vehicles involved, the delivery schedule or the duration of the maintenance arrangement.

BEML’s High Mobility Vehicle portfolio is designed for demanding operating conditions and applications requiring high load-bearing capacity and mobility across difficult terrain. The HMV 12×12 and HMV 8×8 configurations provide multiple driven axles to support vehicle movement in challenging environments.

The company had earlier introduced its indigenously designed and manufactured HMV 12×12 at its Palakkad complex in March 2025. Developed for the Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (VRDE) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the vehicle was designed to enhance mobility for defence applications.

BEML operates across three principal business segments: Defence and Aerospace, Mining and Construction, and Rail and Metro. Its product portfolio includes defence mobility platforms, mining equipment, rail coaches and metro rolling stock, serving government and industrial customers.

The latest order adds to a series of contracts secured by BEML in recent months across its defence, rail and infrastructure businesses. As of June 30, 2026, the company’s order book stood at ₹16,285 crore, before subsequent order wins announced during August and September.

The ₹75.58-crore contract provides an additional export opportunity for BEML’s heavy mobility vehicle business, while the maintenance component extends the scope of the engagement beyond the initial supply of vehicles.
