BCPL Railway Infrastructure Emerges L1 for ₹54.74 Crore Eastern Railway Project

BCPL Railway Infrastructure has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a ₹54.74 crore Traction Distribution (TRD) project floated by the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway. The project covers the replacement of ageing railway electrification infrastructure across key sections of the division.

The tender, identified as TRD-WC-T-2026-27-11, includes replacement of overaged catenary wire, contact wire and droppers along the Durgapur-Sitarampur section. The scope also includes replacement of old structures in the Panagarh-Waria section of the Asansol Division.

The ₹54.74 crore project value is inclusive of GST. The work falls within BCPL Railway Infrastructure’s regular business operations, with the company specialising in railway electrification and traction overhead equipment.

BCPL’s L1 position follows another project secured through the same Eastern Railway division. On September 5, the company emerged as the lowest bidder for a ₹37.36 crore project involving the replacement of overaged structures in the Waria-Raniganj section.

Together, the two bids strengthen BCPL’s presence in railway traction and infrastructure works within the Eastern Railway network. The latest project, however, remains at the L1 stage, and the formal Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is awaited. The execution timeline will be finalised after the LoA is received.

The projects come as Indian Railways continues to upgrade its traction and electrification infrastructure, with replacement of ageing overhead equipment and structures forming an important part of maintaining reliable railway operations.

For BCPL Railway Infrastructure, the latest L1 position adds another sizeable opportunity to its railway infrastructure pipeline and further expands its work in traction distribution projects under Eastern Railway.
