3. How is Case preparing for the future infra development and market opportunities?

and

8. What is your outlook on the Indian Construction Equipment industry?

We are excited about the potential in the construction and infrastructure industry for the upcoming fiscal year. The Construction Equipment market in India is benefitting from the rapid development of infrastructure and construction sector in the country. Based on recent reports about the market, we believe that the Indian construction equipment will witness continuing growth for the next few years. The sales of construction equipment in the second quarter of the current fiscal (Q2,FY23) grew 8% YoY and 12% over Q1, FY21. It is projected to grow at CAGR of 23.3% during 2021-27. With an estimated GDP growth of 7%, a sales growth of 15% YOY is anticipated in the construction equipment industry in 2023. It is important to note that Construction Equipment accounts for nearly 14% of the total project cost of approximately USD 1.4 trillion planned under the National Infrastructure Pipeline.

Growing investment in public and private infrastructure, construction of roads and highways in combination with the growing economy has led to the overall growth in the market for construction equipment. Given that it will be an election year in 2024, the government will put a greater emphasis on civic development both in rural and urban India. For the next two years, the government will concentrate on constructing 100 kilometers of new roads every day. The government has also allotted more than INR 1.80 crores for this construction. Major construction projects are in progress, particularly those connected with the National Infrastructure Pipeline, the Bharatmala project, the Sagarmala project, and the PM Gati Shakti Framework. As excavators, loader-backhoes, and compactors are utilized at most sites for a variety of purposes, we believe that as a result, there will be rising demand for mining, construction, and earthmoving equipment. We, at CASE, are excited for the opportunities in the industry and look forward to contributing to this growth by providing our complete line of intelligent and efficient construction equipment.

5. What are the trends and challenges in the Indian Compactor Market?

According to the recent studies, the global soil compaction market is expected to grow at over 4% and hit USD 4 billion by 2028. Driven by the renewed focus on infrastructural development in the Indian market, there is a positive outlook of the construction industry towards compaction equipment. Additionally, the demand has been influenced by the adoption of modern soil compaction equipment including rollers with an integrated intelligent compaction measurement system by construction companies.

In India, the Construction Equipment industry has recently upgraded the machines above 75HP by accepting newer emission norms. Moreover, while adopting the BS(CEV IV), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) or Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Systems were introduced to bring down the harmful emissions in the exhaust. By April 2024, the next stage of emission norms are scheduled for implementation, referred to as Stage-V and the OEMs are working towards it The BSV emission norms mandates the operator safety structures like Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) and Falling-Object Protective Structure (FOPS).  Additionally, in last couple of years, customers have preferred the vibratory compactors with telematics for the ease of operations. Intelligent compaction meter is another optional fitment, which is expected to gather customer base in the near future. CASE being a market leader in vibratory soil compactors, this is an important segment for us and we are focused on providing equipment with advanced and intelligent features, especially focusing on efficiency, operator safety and comfort.
