Amara Raja’s GigaFactory and Three Advanced Manufacturing Units Break Ground at Divitipally Electronics Cluster in Telangana
In a major boost to India’s electronics and battery manufacturing sector, the foundation stone has been laid for Amara Raja’s Giga Factory along with three other advanced manufacturing units at the Divitipally Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Telangana. This milestone marks a significant step in India’s push toward self-reliance in battery technology, clean energy solutions, and high-tech electronics manufacturing.
The Amara Raja Giga Factory, which is a part of the company’s ambitious energy and mobility plans, will focus on producing advanced lithium-ion battery cells and battery packs to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy storage, and industrial applications. With India rapidly transitioning toward e-mobility, this facility is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the domestic battery supply chain and reducing dependence on imports. The factory is being developed with cutting-edge research and development (R&D) facilities, ensuring innovation in energy storage technologies and making India a competitive player in the global battery market.
Apart from Amara Raja’s facility, three additional high-tech manufacturing units are being established at the Divitipally EMC, signaling Telangana’s emergence as a key hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. These units will focus on semiconductor components, precision electronics, and nextgeneration communication devices, reinforcing India’s ambitions to become a global manufacturing destination under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.
Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony, Telangana Chief Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to fostering high-tech industries and positioning Telangana as a preferred investment destination for electronics and renewable energy manufacturing. The Divitipally EMC has already attracted leading firms, and the government is ensuring worldclass infrastructure, policy incentives, and a skilled workforce to support its growth. The establishment of these advanced manufacturing units is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region while boosting the local economy. With growing investor interest and proactive government policies, Telangana is on track to becoming a major hub for electronics, battery technology, and clean energy solutions in the coming years
