JCB India showcased its range of CEV Stage 5 ready machines at the Bharat Construction Equipment Expo today, marking a significant milestone in line with the Government’s latest emissions and safety regulations.  Designed with a focus on both emissions compliance and customer centricity these machines are poised to set a new benchmark in the construction equipment sector with 10-15% better fuel efficiency compared to their CEV Stage 4 predecessors. The company exhibited the CEV Stage 5 engines and machines which included the range of Backhoe Loaders, Telehandlers, Skid Steer Loaders, Compactors and Wheeled Loaders.

The Made in India CEV Stage 5 ready equipment on display at the JCB pavilion aligns with the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and adherence to the Government’s regulatory emissions standards. The advanced technology integrated into each machine not only ensures that the environmental impact is minimised, but also enhances performance and power of the machines.

JCB CEV Stage 5 machines have undergone rigorous testing processes, including over 2,00,000 hours of real-world testing and over 70,000 hours of development and endurance trials. They have been tested at altitudes as high as 4500 meters in some of the toughest terrains like Leh and Ladakh ensuring exceptional performance and reliability under the most challenging conditions.

The JCB Stage 5  Engines are equipped with Stage 5 complaint emission control technology, which includes Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The engines also have a robust fuel filtration system, with extended primary filter replacement intervals. This ensures maximum uptime for the machine without impacting user experience.

The new range of machines have also been designed with the operator safety and comfort in mind. The operator cabins are strengthened with high quality material making it Roll over Protective Structure (ROPS) compliant in line with Government safety regulations.  They also offer enhanced ergonomics, reduced noise levels and simplified engine regeneration processes. JCB’s commitment to maximising return on investment for customers is evident in the integration of user-friendly diagnostics and predictive maintenance features which help reduce downtime and ensure optimal machine performance.

JCB has been a pioneer in the heavy machinery industry in its commitment to sustainability. By integrating hydrogen into its machinery, the company has been addressing emissions in a sector traditionally reliant on diesel, since 2021.The hydrogen engine powered backhoe prototype on display at the Expo, is powered by a 4.8L Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine, which gives performance similar to the conventional diesel engine.  JCB has invested over £100 Million in its Global Hydrogen Programme to produce these super-efficient Hydrogen engines.

JCB India also announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL), India's Largest Phygital Pre-owned Marketplace for Vehicles and Equipment to efficiently manage sale of pre-owned certified JCB machines. The growing infrastructure development in India has led to an increase in demand for construction equipment.  For contractors and customers looking to maintain cost efficiency without compromising on quality, the availability of well-maintained pre-owned equipment is becoming increasingly important.
