Shri Narendra Modi Launches Key Development Project in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh with Commemorative Stamp and Coin of Honourable Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Shri Narendra Modi has laid the building block of several key development projects in
Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh.
Ken-Betwa River Linking Project was one of the key highlights among the launch which will be
the first Interlinking of rivers initiative under a national perspective plan.
The Ken-Betwa project aims to provide irrigation facilities to various districts in Madhya Pradesh
and Uttar Pradesh which will benefit lakhs of farmers. In this project the construction of
Daudhan dam is also included which is located in the border area of Chhatarpur and Panna
districts which will store approximately 2,853 million cubic meters of water.
PM Modi has stated while addressing at the event, “In one year of (Chief Minister) Mohan
Yadav's government, development has gained a new momentum. Today also, development
projects worth thousands of rupees have been started here. The Ken-Betwa link project has
also been approved. I congratulate the people of MP for these projects.”
Shri Modi ji bad also ascribed the foundation stone for 1,153 Atal Gram Sushasan Buildings
which are expected to enhance governance at the grassroot level. These buildings will play a
crucial role in conducting the official work and responsibilities of Gram Panchayats which leads
to good governance at the local level.
Among these several projects, one of the significant projects was also inaugurated by PM Modi
that was the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project which is located in the Khandwa district of
Madhya Pradesh.
This solar project is designed to reduce the carbon footprints and support the Government’s
mission of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070. This initiative will also aim for water
conservation by reducing evaporation.
