Government has planned to strengthen India's Defence at LAC with five new strategic Roads in Ladakh!
The Standing Committee of the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) has given a clearance to five strategic road projects in Ladakh under a significant development for India’s strategic infrastructure!
The four roads from these will pass through the Karakoram Wildlife Sanctuary, located along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China. Among these key stretches the route will direct to Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) which is India's northernmost military outpost and the site of its highest airstrip.
To improve the logistical support and troop mobility in the aftermath of the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes between Indian and Chinese forces, the roadways in the key military locations and outposts are part of this project.
The strategic importance of this project is the significance of these road projects cannot be understated particularly in the context of the ongoing tensions between the borders. Since the Galwan clashes in 2020, India has put in double efforts to improve the infrastructure in border areas to counter the Chinese military presence.
