Adani Group announces Project Anantha with the investment of Rs 1,300 crore for Thiruvananthapuram Airport

Adani Group’s division Adani Airport Holdings Ltd has announced a major investment of Rs 1,300 crore for the expansion of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.

 

This ambitious project is named as “Project Anantha”, which is aimed for significantly upgrading the infrastructure of the airport by 2027. One of the major key highlights of this expansion project is a new terminal which is designed to reflect Kerala's cultural rich heritage and inspired by the state's iconic historical places and temples.

 

The current metrics of the airport spans 45,000 square meters and handles approximately 3.2 million passengers annually. But the terminal’s area will increase to 165,000 square meters after the expansion and with the capacity to accommodate up to 12 million passengers a year.

 

The construction of this ambitious project is set to begin this financial year and is expected to complete by 2027. The new terminal will also include modern amenities such as plaza, a hotel and additional administrative facilities which will be allocated within a single complex.
