Mumbai’s First Underground Metro Line is all set to open in October: BKC to Aarey in 30 minutes for Rs 50 – Phase 1 of Mumbai Metro Line!
The first phase of Mumbai’s most awaited underground Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, is set to open to the public. This new line will allow commuters to travel between Bandra Kurla Complex and Aarey in just 30 minutes for less than Rs. 50.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is anticipated to inaugurate the First underground Metro Line in Mumbai though MMRCL has not received confirmation from the central government on this.
The running time of the trains will be every 6.5 minutes during the peak time. Ashwini Bhide, managing director of MMRCL has announced the launch will happen in early October.
The fair for this ride would be Rs 10 to Rs 50 for a one way journey between Aarey to BKC.
In the initial stage, nine rakes, each with eight coaches will service this stretch and the increased frequency is expected as the entire 33.5 km corridor becomes operational by the month of April 2025.
