Vande Metro projects in Madhya Pradesh: CM Yadav reveals plans for metro trains with top speed of 160 km/h

The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to bring “Vande Metro” projects to the state’s urban areas in order to push public transport facilities, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said. Indore’s guardian minister, Yadav, participated in a review meeting to assess the ongoing development projects in the district.

In an interaction with the reporters he said the present metro rail can run at a maximum speed of 80 kilometres per hour. Meanwhile, the Vande Metro rail can achieve a speed of up to 160 kilometres per hour.

He also confirmed that Ujjain will be connected by metro rail ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela in 2028.

The Chief Minister announced plans to accelerate the construction of the Indore metro project, with “elevated” roads to be developed to address the city’s traffic issues. He further revealed that the state government is making rapid progress toward establishing a metropolitan authority by integrating parts of Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, and Dhar districts.

“We have prepared a blueprint to form metropolitan authorities in four cities. However, the best feasibility report in this regard has come for Indore and Ujjain. Metropolitan authorities will also be formed in the rest of the metros,” he added.
