Nippon Paint (India) AYDA Award winners gear up for Global Competition with 17 countries

With over 15 years of successful editions, AYDA Awards by Nippon Paint (India), announced the winners in various categories at a grand finale event in Chennai. The contest theme was “CONVERGE: Pushing the Reset Buttonreflecting on bringing different aspects of life and letting it live through your design. 

This year, AYDA India witnessed over 450 applicants from the architecture and interior design students’ community, out of which 20 projects were shortlisted for the grand finale.  The shortlisted finalists were judged by renowned architects – Ar. Arvind, Ar. Dikshu Kukreja, Ar. Mausami Andhare, Ar. Nilabh Nagar, Ar. Tony Joseph, Ar. Sujit Nair, Ar. Pramod Balakrishnan and Mr. Deepu Shyam Prakash.

Mr. S Mahesh Anand, President – Decorative Division, Nippon Paint (India), and a panel of illustrious Architects and Interior designers,awarded the title winners. One winner from each category (Architecture and Interior Design) was awarded the gold and silver awards along with cash prizes of INR 50,000 and INR 25,000 respectively, and INR 10,000 for the honorary mentions and 5000 each for best colour choice, best green innovation, best mentor, best education institute and best supporting colleges. This year, AYDA recognized the institutions that provided the best support; Dr MGR Research and Educational Institutionwas recognized as Best Supporting College; Rachana Sansad Academy of Architecture and Ranganathan Architectural College received honourable mentions as Best Education Institution.

Talking about the event, Mr. S Mahesh Anand, President – Decorative Division, Nippon Paint (India) commented,"We are happy to announce the winners of AYDA 2022(India edition), which has become a successful platform for many aspiring young architects. It is critical to encourage and nurture budding talent and we hope that our efforts through AYDA will continue to appreciate outstanding architecture and interior design students.

We are happy to see a lot of young architects using this platform, showcase their talent and compete with the global talent.”

A round table session had experts from the industry who spoke about sustainability in the built environment. It was to enlighten the architects that green designs are the future of the world. Over the years, several comprehensive design networks comprised of thousands of professionals, educators, partners, and students across the region have been brought together by the AYDA Awards.

Interior design category -

Gold - Shivam Singh, Chandigarh college of Architecture

Silver - Shivani Jadhav, Lokmaniya Tilak Institute of Architecture

 

Architecture category-

Gold - Vaibhav Dalvi, VIT PVP college of Architecture

Silver -Nikitha Dhavale- VIT PVP college of Architecture
