Gadkari inaugurates 28 NH projects in MP
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has inaugurated 28 national highway projects worth Rs 6,800 crore in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. The projects have a total length of 550 km. The Minister for Road Transport and Highways stated that the construction of these bypasses including Powai, Orchha, Harpalpur, Kaithi Padhariya Kala, Patna Tamauli, Jasso, Nagaud and Sagar Link Road, will reduce traffic pressure in the city. He also mentioned that the construction of the Bhopal-Kanpur Economic Corridor will make transportation of cement and minerals easier and reduce logistics costs. The construction of this corridor will also improve connectivity from Bhopal to Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Varanasi. Additionally, the construction of a 2-lane road with paved shoulder from Tikamgarh to Orchha will make traffic safer. Gadkari announced the construction of a four-lane greenfield road of 105 kilometre length from Bamitha to Satna at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore. This road will boost tourism in Tikamgarh, Panna, Chhatarpur, Khajuraho, and Bandhavgarh National Park
