Indian construction equipment, earthmoving & material handling market having started in 1960s evolved very slowly until 1990s when steadygrowth began. Year 1995 was the year when the first major exhibition of these equipments was held at Palace Grounds, Bangalore. This was the year when the equipment market started posting big gains. Therefore it would be correct to call 1995 as the year that marked the beginning of International exhibitions in India with Excon taking the lead & holding sway till 2010.

In 2011 bauma-conexpo show held its first edition in India, an International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines and Construction Vehicles. It was held from 8 to 11 February at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. This mega event, was a joint venture between two internationally renowned and successful trade show organizers, Messe Muenchen International, the organizer of bauma and AEM and the organizer of CONEXPO-CON/AGG. This biennial event brought a combined global expertise to the growing Indian marketplace. and is going to be a high-quality event displaying innovating and advances of the construction industry and will benefit all bC India participants.

This biennial has been bringing together global market leaders and industry representatives alike.

This year (2018) the event is being held from 11th to 14th December at Huda ground Gurgaon, Haryana.

The 2016 edition was one of the best exhibitions for our Industry for the manner, style& the expanse. The management of the show, layout& the facilities could match best in the world. The footfall was excellent & the business conducted was to the satisfaction of the participants.

I was a member of the advisory board & must say that it turned out to be more than what was expected. This to me marked a defining edition as it catered to a huge catchment area including neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bangladesh in particular. The technical seminars on the sidelines were very well attended too. Must say that this event is here to stay as it will grow in size, stature and it has an importance at the national as well as international level with increasing participation of players across the Globe and visitors too.
