The American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the Global Consensus on Sustainability in the Built Environment (GLOBE) have entered into a memorandum of understanding to strengthen collaboration aimed at advancing sustainability in concrete and construction practices worldwide.
Under the agreement, both organisations will work together to improve sustainable concrete construction by sharing technical knowledge and expertise through publications, conferences, committee participation, meetings, and other joint initiatives. The partnership encourages collaboration across the construction value chain to identify and implement improvements in current practices that can help lower greenhouse gas emissions while supporting resilient and sustainable infrastructure.
The collaboration aligns with ACI’s broader strategic focus on defining and advancing concrete resilience and sustainability. Through the MOU, ACI aims to support industry stakeholders in adopting responsible construction practices and reinforcing its role as a steward of the built environment for future generations.
GLOBE highlighted that concrete plays a critical role in modern infrastructure and also represents one of the largest opportunities for reducing emissions in the construction sector. The partnership seeks to promote practical, science-based solutions that enable decarbonisation while maintaining safety, durability, and long-term performance.
