The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has successfully achieved 100% of its targets under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, covering 15,004 sites across the country. The extensive cleanliness initiative was carried out through coordinated efforts by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), and various Project Implementation Units (PIUs).
The campaign focused on cleaning highways, toll plazas, rest areas, and construction sites, while promoting waste segregation, plastic reduction, and awareness among local communities. MoRTH officials emphasized that the effort aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of a cleaner, greener India, ensuring that infrastructure growth goes hand-in-hand with environmental responsibility.
Through sustained action and public participation, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining hygiene standards across India’s vast road network and integrating sustainability into every stage of highway development.
