The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that starting October 14, incentives under its Electric Vehicle (EV) policy will be extended exclusively to vehicles manufactured within the state. The move is aimed at promoting local manufacturing, creating employment opportunities, and strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position as a leading hub for electric mobility in India.
Officials stated that the revised policy will encourage EV companies to set up manufacturing units, component facilities, and battery assembly plants within the state. By prioritizing locally produced vehicles for subsidies and tax benefits, the government seeks to boost domestic value addition and reduce dependence on imported components.
