L&T secures multiple prestigious orders for power transmission and distribution projects featuring smart grid technology underground cabling and advanced reactive power compensation systems

The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured multiple prestigious grid infrastructure orders across India and international markets, reinforcing its leadership in the power sector.

In India, the order focuses on modernizing power distribution through SCADA and smart technology integration in two towns. The scope also includes the upgradation of distribution transformer stations and the conversion of overhead electrical lines into underground cabling, enhancing efficiency and reliability.

In the UAE, L&T will design, supply, and construct two ±300 MVAr STATCOM systems at existing 400 kV substations. These advanced systems will deliver dynamic reactive power compensation, providing instantaneous response to grid fluctuations, improving power quality, and ensuring stable voltage levels in real time.

In Oman, the company has secured an order to establish a 400/132 kV grid station, along with the development of a 400 kV transmission line segment, further strengthening the region’s grid infrastructure.

These wins highlight L&T’s unwavering commitment to building future-ready, sustainable, and resilient power infrastructure, supporting the energy transition and long-term growth goals of its clients worldwide.
