Airfloa Rail Technology has secured a ₹34.85 crore contract from Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, for the interior design of a Vande Bharat Sleeper trainset and development of a mock-up. The company will execute the order as the lead member of a consortium with Italy-based BLUE Engineering S.r.l.
The Letter of Acceptance was issued on October 12, 2026, and the work must be completed within 12 months. The contract value includes GST.
Airfloa said it was the first Indian company to secure an interior design contract of this scale in the history of Indian Railways. The assignment expands its work in railway engineering beyond manufacturing rolling stock components and undertaking interior furnishing projects.
The company has executed nine major turnkey rail projects, including work related to the Agra-Kanpur Metro, Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), Vistadome coaches and Vande Bharat Express. Its capabilities include engineering, design, tooling, material development and assembly.
