Steel Exchange India Limited has reported provisional consolidated revenue of approximately ₹340 crore for the second quarter of FY27, supported by record production of re-bars at its rolling mill.
The company’s re-bar production for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, reached an all-time high of 69,617.42 metric tonnes. September also registered the company’s highest-ever monthly re-bar production at 25,095.04 metric tonnes.
The company said the higher production and revenue were supported by the operationalisation of its new Reheating Furnace (RHF), which has helped improve manufacturing yields and capacity utilisation at its rolling mill.
The ₹340-crore provisional revenue for Q2 FY27 represents an increase of about 46% over the ₹232.91 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of FY26. On a sequential basis, revenue increased by around 26% from ₹270.71 crore in Q1 FY27.
The record production levels during the quarter have improved the utilisation of the company’s rolling mill and are contributing to economies of scale and operating leverage.
September production of 25,095.04 MT was higher than the previous monthly peak of 24,823.51 MT recorded in August. The company has attributed the continued improvement to productivity gains following the commissioning of the RHF.
Steel Exchange India is also pursuing diversification into specialty steel products under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. The initiative is aimed at developing higher-value product segments and supporting import substitution.
The company operates an integrated steel manufacturing facility in Vizianagaram district near Visakhapatnam and markets its TMT re-bars under the SIMHADRI TMT brand. Its integrated operations cover the production chain for long steel products.
The company’s recent operational performance follows its strategic agreement with NMDC Limited. In September 2026, Steel Exchange India signed a four-year non-exclusive, non-binding MoU with NMDC for procurement of iron ore fines of consistent grade, including material with Fe content of 61-63% and above.
Steel Exchange India said the Q2 FY27 performance represents an important step in its ongoing operational improvement, with the company focusing on higher capacity utilisation, manufacturing efficiencies and expansion into specialty steel segments.
The Q2 revenue and production numbers are provisional and unaudited and remain subject to review and approval as part of the company’s financial reporting process.
