Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded a ₹1,234 crore civil construction contract by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (NMRC) for the expansion of the Aqua Line, marking a significant step towards strengthening metro connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida. The project covers key elevated infrastructure that will support two strategic extensions of the existing metro corridor.

The scope of work includes the design and construction of elevated viaducts and 10 elevated metro stations for the Botanical Garden–Sector 142 extension and the Depot Station–Boraki Multi-Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) corridor. According to NMRC, the contract has been awarded for a period of 1,096 days, during which L&T will execute the complete civil works for the project.

The 11.56-km Botanical Garden–Sector 142 corridor is expected to significantly improve connectivity by linking the Aqua Line with Delhi Metro’s Blue and Magenta Lines at Botanical Garden. The extension will pass through key residential, commercial and institutional areas, providing commuters with seamless multimodal transit options while reducing travel time across Noida.

The project forms part of NMRC’s long-term expansion strategy to strengthen public transport infrastructure across the National Capital Region. Besides improving urban mobility, the Aqua Line extensions are expected to support transit-oriented development, ease road congestion and enhance connectivity to emerging residential, business and logistics hubs in Noida and Greater Noida.
