Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for infrastructure and development projects worth approximately ₹18,777 crore during his visit to Gujarat on June 5.
The projects span multiple sectors, including railways, urban development, roads, water supply, energy, and public infrastructure, reflecting the government’s continued focus on strengthening connectivity and accelerating economic growth in the state.
According to officials, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several completed projects while also launching new initiatives aimed at improving transportation networks, civic amenities, and industrial infrastructure across various districts of Gujarat.
A significant portion of the investment is directed towards railway infrastructure, with projects focused on enhancing operational efficiency, passenger convenience, and network capacity. These initiatives are expected to improve regional and national connectivity while supporting economic activity.
The programme also includes key urban infrastructure projects designed to strengthen water supply systems, sanitation facilities, and public services in rapidly growing urban centres.
Road and transport-related projects form another major component of the investment package, aimed at improving mobility, reducing travel time, and facilitating smoother movement of goods and passengers across the state.
Officials stated that the projects are expected to generate employment opportunities during both construction and operational phases while contributing to industrial growth and regional development.
The initiatives align with broader national infrastructure programmes focused on expanding transportation networks, improving logistics efficiency, and creating modern public infrastructure to support long-term economic growth.
Gujarat continues to be a major destination for infrastructure investments due to its strategic location, industrial ecosystem, port connectivity, and growing manufacturing base.
The projects being launched are expected to benefit multiple sectors, including industry, trade, agriculture, tourism, and urban development, while improving the quality of life for residents across the state.
Officials noted that the investment package reflects the government’s emphasis on integrated infrastructure development and its commitment to strengthening connectivity and public services across the country.
Infrastructure experts believe the ₹18,777 crore portfolio of projects will further enhance Gujarat’s position as one of India’s leading economic and industrial hubs while supporting the state’s future growth and development objectives.
