KSH Distriparks has launched Pune’s first dedicated empty container yard, marking a significant step in strengthening the region’s logistics and export infrastructure.
The newly operational facility is designed to address a long-standing challenge faced by exporters and logistics players in Pune, limited availability and inefficient movement of empty containers. By providing a localised storage and handling hub, the yard is expected to reduce dependence on distant ports such as Nhava Sheva for empty container repositioning, thereby saving both time and logistics costs.
Strategically located to serve industrial clusters in and around Pune, the facility will support faster turnaround of containers, enabling exporters to access equipment more efficiently and streamline supply chain operations. This is particularly important for a region that has emerged as a major hub for manufacturing, automotive, engineering, and export-oriented industries.
The development complements KSH Distriparks’ broader logistics ecosystem, which includes container logistics solutions, warehousing, and multimodal transport services, aimed at creating an integrated and efficient supply chain network.
With the introduction of this dedicated empty container yard, KSH Distriparks is expected to enhance container availability, reduce congestion at ports, and improve overall logistics efficiency, supporting the growing export demand from western India.
